Awesome afternoon with dear friends and kids. Karen bought these fabulous tomatoes at her farmers’ market, and Christine bought this insane mozzarella at hers. Note Karen’s enthusiasm re: the tomatoes. :) We brought sausages from Cibola Farms- they’re in Culpepper, VA, and make a variety of super-flavorful sausages from humanely raised and slaughtered pigs and buffalo. If you’re anywhere in the DC area, you can probably find Cibola Farms at a market. Do you like mustard? The sweet Italian sausages are fabulous with Bone Suckin’ brand mustard. Then again, dirt would be good with that mustard. Karen was eating it on baguette which is definitely something I’d do. Tom and Steve were waxing rhapsodic over it as well. Somewhat hard to find but try Whole Foods, or if you’re in NC or know someone there, Bone Suckin’ is based in Durham. They also make a fab BBQ sauce!
