Just a regular marathon

People, how is it almost August, and not one part of summer has felt lazy or slow (except the trip to the beach)? This has been a nutty, busy time. I have spent all morning filling out reams of paperwork required for Oliver's school, walking the dog, cleaning the war-zone that is my house and starting to pack for our trip to Louisiana this Saturday. The house does not look cleaner, the paperwork is still not done, I think I brushed my teeth but can't really remember, and I've got a migraine (and associated nausea) that is raging like an out-of-control forest fire. My fun-time afternoon activity involves taking the boys to the dentist at which time all three of us have appointments. Jack is always extremely well-behaved because he likes all the machinery there, and we love our dentist, but it seems very possible that Oliver will not cotton to the whole experience. I do believe that by the time we get home from this triple wow, we will all be sacked. And then dinner, bath and bedtime loom. AArgh! I had every intention of canning dilly beans this morning but need to go drop some of these many forms (and really, 1) haven't I filled all of these out sooo many times already, and 2) DC has the most absurd layout of each form- hard to decipher what should go where; how difficult is it to create a form?!) at the pediatrician's office. I must have some dessert today and am thinking citrus so hope to have time later to make a cake.

Hope you're all chugging along on this last day o' July!
