Elephants

I've been so upset today about the rampant elephant poaching occurring in Africa and feel tremendously worried for that wonderful animal's future. If you'd like to read more about the poaching, efforts to curb it, the (primarily) Chinese demand for ivory trinkets which is fueling the poach-and-trade slaughter, and so forth, this compilation of articles from the Wildlife Conservation Network is terrific. WCN is a great organization that receives top ratings from Charity Navigator. They have a sub-org, Save the Elephants, founded and led by Iain Douglas-Hamilton, an elephant expert.
