Soup hits the spot big-time, as does good wine + a fire
/With all the trimmings, this soup was truly fantastic- much better than my initial read. I'd keep the cream addition (about 2 T) and bid you please to not ignore the croutons and fried cabbage for toppers. Those are caraway seeds scattered across it all too. Yum, yum. I'll post this recipe, in addition to the link here. As well, the crostini recipe from last night is up: Em-i-lis' Sage, Walnut, Pear, Caramelized Shallot and Blue Cheese crostini, under apps. Is that the most ridiculously lengthy recipe title ever? Good lord. Please feel free to suggest shorter alternatives. While waiting for T to arrive home, I opened a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc (the 2011 Chateau Los Boldos) and lit a fire. Have I mentioned that it was extremely cold here today? Anyway, how great is it to sit in front of a fire, glass of wine by your side, good book (Waiting for Bones) in hand and hearty soup a'stewing?! Pretty good folks.
