Lattice top for pie

I decided to cut the laziness and attempt to actually weave my lattice this morning. Foodie friend C gave me this pastry cutter that makes subtle, rippled edges on the lattice strips. I'm not sure you can see that little detail in the angle of this picture, but it's lovely. Weaving is not nearly as troublesome as I'd thought and although I cheated in some areas because I didn't plan ahead well enough, this actually looks pretty nice. Jack is really angling for a piece of this but it's for a party later this week. Love my discovery of the freeze-and-thaw...wish I'd known about that before. Ah well. What are y'all up to today? We're going to bring some bags of items out for donation and just hang.
